Tork focuses on green Hygiene
Green Hygiene – A Leader in Sustainability was the theme of this year´s Tork stand at ISSA-Interclean.
The stand featured story walls on hygiene and sustainability and baby spruce trees were given out to customers.
“It is a challenge every time to come up with an original theme that also fits in with our message,” said Pascale Wolleswinkel, executive assistant from SCA in the Netherlands.
“Last time we made a bold statement about our environmental credentials. While we have emphasised sustainability once again this year, the stand is more product-focused and we are giving away miniature bottles of soap and alcohol gels.”
The hygiene wall featured a “hygiene timeline” including relevant dates such as the earliest recycled products in the 1940s and the introduction of the first disposal diaper in 1957. The complete range of Tork soaps were also on display. These now come in a hygienic new cartridge that is completely sealed to prevent the possibility of soap contamination before use.
UK key account manager Stuart Hands – who helped man the Tork stand - said he felt the hygiene and sustainability messages fitted together very well. “Sustainability is not at the forefront of people´s minds because they mainly come to see our products,” he said. “But once they see the sustainability walls they become very interested.”
SCA and Tork have manned a stand at ISSA-Interclean since 2000 and Pascale has helped to organise every event. “We like to surprise our customers every time with a game or a giveaway,” she said. “We decided to give away trees to support our sustainability message again this time and also because trees are a living thing, and not something that people throw away.”
Stand visitor Lutz Hansen from the Bayer Corporation in Germany agreed: “I think the tree giveaway is an excellent idea. I´m definitely going to plant mine when I get home.”
